Interview with Dennis from Alarmstufe Riot by Ove

Hello Dennis, thank you so much for giving Blizz Of Rock this interview

First of all Dennis, I’m honored to talk to the lead singer behind the great rock band Alarmstufe Riot.

Dennis: Honored to be here.

When was the band Alarmstufe Riot formed?

Dennis: The band Alarmstufe Riot is formed in April 2003; the first name was "Alarmstufe Schwarz-Rot"

What is the story behind the name?

Dennis: It is an german-english pun. "Alarmstufe Rot" means in english "Alertcode red" so we decided to change the german word "rot" with the english word "riot". It´s similiar to our music.

How would you describe your music?

Dennis: I would say it´s crossover but this word is an insult. 2003 we started as a punkband, year after year more and more metal elements change our sound. At the moment we play a kind of metalcore.

Is Alarmstufe Riot signed? What kind of a deal is the band looking for?

Dennis: Yes, we are signed with Rebellion Records Germany. We are looking for labels which are interested to distribute our music worldwide (at the moment our cd can only be bought in Germany, Austria, Swiss and in the Benelux-staates).

Rumors has it that the band have made a few changes over the years with the lineup, how come?

Dennis: Some people went in other cities, other were oriented to other styles of music. I´m very happy that our line-up is complete at the moment.

How many albums/ep’s have Alarmstufe Riot released?

Dennis: We have one album released. It´s called "Tote Szene?" and can be orderd with a short message in our contact application http://alarmstuferiot.bplaced.net/include.php?path =contact for 10,00 €

Where may we find the albums, where could we buy the music from Alarmstufe Riot?

Dennis: You can also buy our music at Rebellion Records Germany , Amazon Germany, Weltbild and many others.

Who is the songwriter for the band?

Dennis: I´m the songwriter.

What is your favorite track?

Dennis: My favorite track is called "Senseless". It is unrealsed and we are straight working on it. So get ready for an awesome track

My favorite track is “Suizid” Who wrote it and what is the story behind the name?

Dennis: I wrote it and it´s a song about never giving up, against suicide. We have recorded it with Pedder (R.I.P.) from the famous German punkband "Daily Terror". He died even before I could give him a copy of our release.

How would you describe to be a artist in Germany?

Dennis: It´s very hard if you don´t know people that can help you out or promoting your stuff. In Germany are a big bunch of bands.

Is it possible to see Alarmstufe Riot live on tour?

Dennis: We don´t touring at the moment but we will back on stage february 2010. Subscribe to our myspace-blog to get announced on new gigs.

Do you remember your first stage experience? How did it go?

Dennis: Yes, I wasn´t nervous. I´m familiar with great audiences since the age of five.

Any bands or artists you would love to have with you on your tour?

Dennis: Of course, I would love to have such great hardcore bands like Blood for Blood, Agnostic Front and Death before dishonor on our tour.

If there was one place in the wide world that you could play Dennis where would that be?

Dennis: I would like to play in Macedonia because we have serveral gig announces from there but haven´t the money to get there.

Alarmstufe Riot is a rock band.  Where do you get your influence? Do you feel that Alarmstufe Riot got their own style?

Dennis: I wouldn´t calls us a straight rockband. Our influence are in German 80's punk, hardcore, metalcore and modern metal. I´m definitely feel that we got our own style because of the wide range of influences.

What’s your opinion about the Rock ‘n’ roll coming back? (If it ever were gone)

Dennis: I´m honestly, I don´t mind about the Rock´n´Roll coming back because except the great "Volbeat" I really don´t like that kind of music.

What sort of age group are you attracting with your music?

Dennis: We attract a very wide range of age group. We have listeners from 16 to 70.

If you got the chance to have a concert in Norway, what could we expect from Alarmstufe Riot?

Dennis: You could expect a great gig and feeling that the anger that goes out from the boxes of the PA go direkt in your brains.

Do you know any Norwegian bands?

Dennis: Of course, I love listen to Dimmu Borgir and Naglfar. They are the world-greatest Black Metalbands

Dimmu Borgir Naglfar

Any instruments you would love to learn how to play, that you don’t?

Dennis: I don´t interested in playing any instrument. I could play keyboard a long time ago.

Would you like Blizz of Rock Radio to play your music?

Dennis: Of course, it would be a great promotion.

Blizz Of Rock

Is there a funny story you could share with us?

Dennis: Sorry, I can´t remember some really, really funny stories.

If you could turn back the time and choose a new date to start a band, when would that be? And why this year/decade?

Dennis: Yes, it would be earlier. 2003: Only to get the experiences earlier.

What is the highlight of your career as rock musician?

Dennis: Whe have played with the mighty UK Subs.

Anyone you would love to meet, that you have not met yet?

Dennis: No........ hahaha of course all of our fans out there

If the band received 100.000$, and had to give it to a good cause, what or who would that be?

Dennis: It would be a organisation against facism and/or rascism.
