Hello Jossi Cash, thank you so much for giving Blizz Of Rock this interview

First of all Jossi, I’m honored to talk to the lead singer  in the Norwegian Rock ‘N’ Roll band Stingray.
When was the band Stingray formed?  What is the story behind the name?

Jossi: Hey, me and some of the guys are having a couple of shots and some beers while doing this interview
and that's also the way Stingray was formed in late summer of 2007, then under the name Dirty Dogs, I played bass and didn't sing back then.
Around Christmas of 2008 we decided to change the name to Stingray because of my addiction to the car

When will we see an album from Stingray in our collection?

Jossi: Hopefully next year

What would happen if Stingray was signed within the year?

Jossi: We..d work our asses of to deliver you the best fucking rock possible! And tour like crazy!

I have got a Demo single from Stingray. And I am A HUGE fan, you know you rock right?

Jossi: As long as we do what we love, at least it feel..s right

Is it possible to download any of your music at the moment?

Jossi: Very soon on iTunes in the next couple of weeks

“Shooting blanks” and “Go away” is some awesome songs, Who is the brain? hahaha

Jossi: Jack Daniels, hehehe

And the sound of your recording is awesome. How did you get the sound to be this good?

Jossi: Easy! All you need is a decent barn in the middle of fucking nowhere, -10 degrees celsius and a shitload of beer and Jack

Do you have any favorite track so far? Why this track?

Jossi: Tough question, but there's a reason why we chose Shooting Blanks for our first video.. It just grooves where it feels best

I am not lying if I say that Backstreet Girls is my favorite Norwegian band. But these guys are getting older,
and they still keep the faith and Bottle up! . Your music remind me a lot of their “Backstreet boogie” music.
What do you feel about being compared with band like BSG?

Jossi: Backstreet Girls are also one of our favorite Norwegian bands and has influenced our music a lot,
so we feel honored being compared with them. In fact Backstreet Girls and Stingray were headliners on Spon Rock Festival yesterday, GOD DAAM they rock, we have much to learn from them.

Backstreet Girls

Where do you see Stingray in five years from now?

Jossi: Still rocking the best we can

Is it possible to see Stingray live on tour?

Jossi: We try to play as much as we can, wherever we can around the country. We..re also planning a mini-tour in Germany

Blizz of Rock had a interview with the band “Aventyr” a few month ago, do you know this band??

Jossi: Not really, but we..re listening to them as we speak and they sound very good! Boogie Yeah!

If there was one place in the wide world that you could play, where would that be?

Jossi: Right now? King Calavera in Hamburg, it seems like an awesome bar (hope they see this he he)

Stingray is a rock band!  Where do you get your influence? Do you feel that Stingray got their own style?

Jossi: From years of listening to good rockmusic and fuckin loving it. We feel we have our own sound.

What does Myspace mean to Stingray?

Jossi: It gets us laid, hehe. No it helps us a lot reaching out to rockers and rockchicks out there, making good connections.

Do you have any good advice to musicians that want to be like you?

Jossi: Yeah, DONT! ha ha

If Stingray received 100.000 dollar, and had to give it to a good cause. What or who would that be?

Jossi: We would give them to the coolest rockbar in Norway: Elm Street, so they don't get kicked out from where they are now.

What’s your opinion about the Rock ‘n’ roll coming back?

Jossi: WHAT??!?!what do you mean coming back? have it ever been gone?

What sort of age group are you attracting with your music?

Jossi. Rockers in all ages

Would you like Blizz Of Rock Radio to play your music?

Jossi: Hell yeah, we want everyone to play our music!!

If you got the chance to have a concert in the US, what could they expect from Stingray?

Jossi: A sparkling band, always trying to do their best live show. No matter size or people.

Kåre Johnny

When did you get your first instrument?

Jossi: I bought my first electric guitar at the age of 11. cause my mom..s acoustic guitar was worn out. Still got it.

Any instruments you would love to learn how to play, that you don’t?

Jossi: Bagpipe, maybe I have a chance now that I quit smoking.

Is there a funny story you could share with us?

Jossi: Hmmmmm, a couple of weeks ago the bass player was wasted and fell down some stairs and kicked out his front teeth,
hehe, it was pretty funny, at least later on.

If you could turn back the time and choose a new date to start a band, when would that be? And why this year/decade?

Jossi: 16.08.1977 the king died and a new group was formed in his honour, the late 70..s were a good time for rock.

What is the highlight of your career as rock musician?

Jossi: The making of the music video, it was a fuckin blast, a lot of partying with a lot of cool people and the fantastic FUEL DURDEN!

Anyone you would love to meet, that you have not met yet?

Jossi: Slash, he is a fuckin hero...My dog is called slash after him.
